Gene expression was analysed in roots and leaves of WT and res plants in absence of stress (control) and when the phenotypic recovery of res mutant began to be observed after salt stress (5 days of 200 mM NaCl). Leaflets (from the first fully-expanded leaf) and roots were harvested and immediately frozen in liquid N2 for subsequent RNA extraction. Three biological replicates (each one including three plants) were considered for each genotype and treatment, resulting in a total of 24 samples. Microarrays analysis was performed using the GeneChip® Tomato Gene 1.1 ST Array Strip (Affymetrix).
