[…] The flounder STAT1 SH2 domain was identified using the TBLASTN algorithm on the BLAST server at the NCBI databank. Multiple sequence alignments were done with the CLUSTAL W algorithm in the BCM Search Launcher, and further adjusted by GeneDoc. A phylogenetic tree of the aligned sequences was constructed using the neighbor-joining algorithm within MEGA (version 3.0).
