[…] The cases and controls were compared using the independent samples T test or Mann-Whitney U test for continuous variables and the Chi-square (χ2) test for categorical variables. Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) was determined by the goodness-of-fit χ2 test with one degree of freedom to compare the observed genotype with the expected genotype frequencies for the subjects. Logistic regression models were used to examine whether the DNMT3B gene polymorphisms were associated with AML. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated using logistic regression analysis and the χ2 test. All of these data, in addition to linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis, haplotype analysis and P values, were calculated.
