[…] Statistical analyses of the effects of region and soil depth on microbial population and N-functional genes were conducted by two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) using Tukey’s honest significant difference (HSD) multiple comparison with a P = 0.05 grouping baseline. All of the statistical analyses were performed with SPSS 16.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Spearman correlation analysis was employed to determine the significant correlations between the abundances of microbial population and N-cycling genes and environmental parameters.
