[…] Baseline patient characteristics and risk factors of HIT were compared between groups by the chi-square test, Student’s t-test, or Mann–Whitney rank sum test where appropriate. The relationships of risk factors to anti-heparin antibody positivity (e.g. age, race, BMI, malignancy stage at the time of HIT diagnosis, indication for heparin use) were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression analysis.
