Finds viruses from massive sequence data. ELM is a web server that uses a customized viral database. The software performs taxonomic identification of viral sequences from next generation sequencing (NGS) datasets via three steps: (1) BLAST search for customized database, (2) lowest common ancestor (LCA) analysis for taxonomic classification, and (3) evaluation of the LCA assignments. It can be useful for the first screening of infectious diseases caused by viruses.
