Predicts protein folding rates from amino acid sequence. FOLD-RATE is a method based on multiple regression technique. Different regression equations have been developed for proteins belonging to all-α, all-β and mixed class proteins, as well as a general equation applicable for all structural classes of proteins which may be helpful for the users to get the folding rate of any protein with its structural class information.
Detects and discards contacts that are redundant from a topological perspective. sarw-lnkf is based on a simple information-theoretic topological descriptor. It can measure the information content associated to the relative conformation of a pair of amino acid residues. This script creates a structures folder under its working directory and will download over a hundred structures.
Predicts the folding rates for proteins of diverse classes based only on the amino acid sequence of the protein. SFoldRate works even when protein sequences are based on alphabets of only two residue types. The effectiveness of the model can be demonstrated in a jackknife test, in which the coefficients ws of the model omitting one protein were calculated and the folding rate of the omitted protein is computed. The result is significantly better (R ¼ 0.82) than prediction results using chain length (R ¼ 0.69).
