Proposes a system for prediction of mitochondrial proteins. Mito-GSAAC aims at predicting eukaryotic mitochondrial proteins using split amino acid composition (SAAC) and an ensemble classifier using genetic programming (GP) without using any biological information. It uses raw sequence data only and thus can be helpful in the research related to cell biology and drug discovery. Furthermore, Mito-GSAAC can identify mitochondrial proteins from other proteins with a relatively high accuracy.
