Provides a toolkit dedicated to the automatization of the identification of neuronal labeling. “Automatic detection of neuronal labeling in histological image series” is a module that can be used through the ImageJ software. It includes four main functionalities for: (i) detecting labeling in series of microscopic images; (ii) selecting of regions of interest (ROIs); (iii) noise filtering; (iv) measuring of labeled area and centroid position in large series of images.
Aims users to enable microscopic histologically and immuno-histologically prepared specimens of neuronal tissue analysis with various settings of experiments. CAS mainly allows users to practice cell border detection. However, the software permits to divide cells into regions, make comparisons between parts of stratified structures and to define cell’s features. Studied files can be manually adjusted.
Traces and analyzes neurites in fluorescence microscopy images. NeuronJ consists in a semi-automatic neurite tracing technique that employs a global optimization algorithm and second-order image feature analysis, making it robust against noise, varying or discontinuous background intensities, and varying or locally diminishing neurite contrast. It can thus be applied to a wide range of images without changing its parameters.
