ONCO.IO is an integrated knowledge database and network analysis tool devoted to miRNAs and lncRNAs involved in oncologic disorders. miRNAs were shown to play prominent role in the pathology of oncologic disorders. ONCO.IO database content is based on the manually curated annotation of experimentally verified miRNA-target interactions described in the literature. The main advantage is that binary miRNA-target interaction is supplemented with information about miRNA expression level and influence on certain carcinogenic processes described in research articles. This feature allows creating natural ontology of carcinogenic process related to specific miRNA. In addition database contains protein-protein and transcription factor (TF)→gene interactions involved in carcinogenesis and major signaling pathways. ONCO.IO provides network analysis tools allowing a users to upload their own lists of genes and build networks using several types of algorithms.
