Automates selection of specific primers that contain strain-specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at the genome level. PrimerSNP identifies primers that can be used to reliably differentiate one strain from other phylogenetically-related strain/species. It can calculate a weight score that takes into account the number and location of SNPs on the primers in order to quantify the primer specificity.
