I'm currently a PhD candidate in David Sela's lab in the Food Science department at UMass Amherst. I work on the genomics and phylogenetics of bacteria from the genus Bifidobacterium (I wish I could italicize this!). I'm focused on the similarities and differences between gastrointestinal bifidobacteria with respect to carbohydrate metabolism. I'm also interested in bifidobacteria species from non-human primates.
