Input data The only input required by the SIMLA program is a parameter file. This parameter file contains details regarding data set generation and family size, including the number of replicates, the number of families per data set, the size of the sibships, and the proportion of families linked to one disease locus versus another.
Output data Output consists of data sets of pedigrees that conform to the user’s selected inclusion criteria. These output files can then be used as input into various genetic analysis packages.
