I am a researcher interested in reproductive and developmental biology with a keen interest in the epigenetic mechanisms that regulate gametogenesis and early embryo development. I have worked with bovine and porcine models but I would work with any other model that could help me further explore the mysteries of gamete interaction and embryonic development. Research is my passion, but I do enjoy teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
PhD researcher interested in generation and characterisation of mAbs. We are also in focus with studying the biological functions of a group of transmembrane proteins, tetrasapnins.
Priyanka Mishra is a Postdoc in the Molecular Biology & Biochemistry Department at the Simon Fraser University, where she has been since 2018. She is also the coordinator of Trainee Committee to the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences, and associate professional of the Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology, the Canadian Association of Postdoctoral Scholars, and the Immigrant & International Women in Science, Vancouver, Canada. Priyanka received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India in 2018. She received a master’s degree in science in 2008, and a bachelor’s in science in 2006 from the Purvanchal University, India. Dr. Priyanka’s research interests span both computational biology and viral immunology. Her current research project focuses on decoding the viral mechanism that leads to neurological hyperactive disorder in human. In data science project, she is developing a meta-analytic method to analyse big OMICS data to uncover novel genes in innate immunity pathways. Priyanka is the author or coauthor of more than 18 papers in international refereed journals and 11 conference contributions. Priyanka currently serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Life Sciences, a postdoc community initiative launched on June 1st 2019, and is an active reviewer to numerous journals including Journal of Proteomics, Microbial Pathogenesis, Physiology & Molecular Biology of Plants, Genes, and Frontiers in Microbiology. As of 2019, Google Scholar reports over 223 citations to her work. When not in lab, Priyanka enjoys hiking, clubbing, watching cricket & movies, digging social media, and cooking good food. She usually manages to read one book a month.

Yashwanth Subbannayya obtained his M.Sc. degree in Medical Biochemistry from Manipal University. He qualified the competitive CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test and joined the Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore as a UGC Junior Research Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Akhilesh Pandey. As part of his Ph.D. work, he studied the molecular mechanisms of gastric cancer in clinical specimens using quantitative proteomics. His expertise includes Systems Biology approaches to study diseases. Post-PhD, he joined the Center for Systems Biology and Molecular Medicine, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) as an Assistant Professor. Here, he helped establish high-resolution proteomics and metabolomics experimental and data analysis pipelines. He has also been involved in training several Ph.D. students and trainees at the center. He moved to the Centre of Molecular Inflammation Research (CEMIR), NTNU, Norway as a post-doctoral fellow in the Systems Inflammation Group under Dr. Richard Kumaran Kandasamy.
