In 2010, I obtained my PhD from the University of Sherbrooke. My focus was to understand how linear information is encoded in proteins and DNA. During my PhD, I developed CLUSS, the first algorithm for clustering non-alignable proteins. I also created DNAc, the first algorithm for retrieving kinship degree between multiple genotypes. My PhD resulted in five journal articles, five conference articles, one best paper award, four selections among best papers, two prestigious postdoctoral fellowships, and more than 200 citations, among which 10 were in books.
In 2009, I received the prestigious NSERC and FQRNT postdoctoral fellowships to pursue my postdoc in the Michnick lab at the University of Montreal. During my postdoc, I devised a strategy for the exhaustive search of linear information encoding protein-peptide recognition. I discovered also a remarkable evolutionary relationship between linear peptides and their specificity, affinity, and function. My postdoc resulted in three important articles in PNAS, PLOS Computational Biology, and PLOS ONE.
In 2015, I accepted the offer of Dr. Sachdev Sidhu and Dr. Jason Moffat from the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research to join their group as research associate and expert in peptide recognition and antibody discovery. I have since successfully devised a strategy to identify new synthetic antibodies with high specificities to antigens involved in cancer and other diseases at a level that has never been achieved before.
I am currently collaborating in fifteen distinct projects involving about seventeen people in the Sidhu and Moffat laboratories, at the Donnelly Centre, and the Toronto Recombinant Antibody Centre (TRAC). I am also involved in the preparation of multiple manuscripts that will be submitted during the current year.
